LOLER Inspections

Under the current Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) must receive a thorough inspection by a competent person at least every 6 months. Excessive machine usage and / or extreme working environments may require inspections sooner than this. All our inspecting engineers are accredited with the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) Competent Assessed Persons Programme (CAP).

Safety harnesses

The use of a suitable full body harness and fall restraint lanyard when using boom type MEWPs is recommended by the HSE and IPAF. Urban Access are able to supply a variety of harness kits if required.

Parts Supply

To ensure rapid, efficient and cost effective maintenance of your platform, we use standard, high quality components that are available all over the world. The more common components are available for next day delivery should this be required.

Training

Approved training for the safe and efficient use of MEWPs cannot be over emphasised. A requirement of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER), many sites will no longer allow the use of access platforms / MEWPs without the proof of accredited training certification.

Probably the most internationally recognized standards for powered access training is International Powered Access Federation (IPAF).

Urban Access are able to offer both Operator and Demonstrator type IPAF training courses either at our customers own facility or one of our appointed IPAF approved training centres across the UK.
